Why is it interesting? The course will help to gain knowledge about what epilepsy is, the etiology of epilepsy, types of epilepsy by type of epileptic seizures, cause of occurrence, localization of the lesion, modern principles and standards of diagnosis and treatment, features of the use of modern means, methods of therapy and rehabilitation, taking into account drug antiepileptic therapy when building individual programs for patients with epilepsy, providing emergency care.

Thanks to the knowledge of the principles of using modern methods of physical therapy, drug therapy, emergency care, specialists/members of the multidisciplinary team will be able to provide qualified and high-quality services to patients with epilepsy, relatives will have an understanding, skills of emergency care, conducting recommended classes at home.

You will learn:

  • Types of epilepsy by type of epileptic seizures, cause of occurrence, localization of the lesion.

  • Correspondence of old and new terms in the description of seizures

  • Criteria for the diagnosis of the main forms of epilepsy according to ICD 10

  • Standards of diagnosis and treatment.

  • Antiepileptic therapy. Mechanism of action of AEDs.

  • Modern principles of using means and methods of therapy and rehabilitation, taking into account drug antiepileptic therapy.

  • Methodology for building individual physical therapy programs for patients with epilepsy
